About Angie

Angie Kardashian was born in a little town in Massachusetts and her life was pretty normal:  school, sports, dancing – nothing very unusual. At age 21 she moved to California and worked for Georgia Pacific Corporation (a large lumber supplier) and sold lumber, plywood, flooring, and nails. Most women don’t even know what a 16d green vinyl sinker is, but Angie did. She became one of the top five salespeople for the company! But after seven years there, she decided to switch careers and opened a restaurant in Tustin, California, called “Angie’s Cuisine Italiano.” For the next 22 years she owned and operated her restaurant and became very involved in the surrounding community.

Some of her accolades include:

  • Woman of Achievement Award, Rancho Santiago College, 1990
  • Chairman of the Board, Tustin Chamber of Commerce, 1990-1992
  • Woman of the Year, City of Tustin, CA 1993
  • Nominated for California Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year, National Restaurant Association, 1995
  • Proclamation of Service, City of Tustin, 1991, 1994, 1997
  • Outstanding Community Service Award, Coto de Caza, 1996
  • Women Making a Difference in Orange County, OC Metro magazine, 1997
  • Meritorious Public Service Citation Medal, United States Department of the Navy, 1997
  • Amazing Woman of the Week, KCBS-TV Los Angeles, 2005
  • Honor Legion Medal and Honorary Firefighter, Fire Department New York, 2004
  • Police Chief Advisory Board, City of Tustin, CA 2007-2016

Angie was motivated to sell her restaurant and go to New York City to cook for 103 fire companies in all five boroughs after the 9/11 attacks. She hopes you will be inspired by her compelling story that she calls “The Power of One.”

After Angie returned to her Orange County, CA home from her two-year cooking ministry for the FDNY, she became a flight attendant for Jet Blue airlines. This new career that she began in 2005, continues to this day. This August 2021 photo was taken at the Jet Blue hangar at New York’s JFK Airport while she was there to be interviewed for a corporate commemorative video honoring the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
